Sharrets monitors
production via computers. The process begins in our shipping and receiving
department. In most cases, forecasting and scheduling of the plating is
completed before reaching the Receiving department, so that upon receipt
of the materials, Scheduling and Line assignment has already been accomplished.
The material is accompanied to the respective plating line with a traveler
tag that describes all of the process information. Quality Assurance personnel
reviews the plating requirements for each lot of material and prepares
for the required testing and necessary certification. This process is
reviewed for appropriate process control and all information is forwarded
to administrators for financial accounting. We file information so that
it can be quickly traced and retrieved. Each work order is reviewed to
ensure process integrity. Schedulers and plating line operators meet frequently
to ensure process control in accordance with written procedures.
Sharretts
continually reviews environmental issues with our goal being constant
improvement and minimization or elimination of waste. We have instituted
various programs such as source reduction and water reuse for over 20
years. Housekeeping of the plant, as well as the plating solutions, is
an ongoing program that demands its own respective goals and objectives.
Sharretts
operates an extensive laboratory and related testing equipment to maintain
the plating solutions at their proper concentrations. Additionally, thickness
of plating deposits is determined utilizing a variety of methods including
micro-section, dermitron, and x-ray, as well as other methods in accordance
with our customer's requirements. Spectrophotometers are used to monitor
and measure effluent waste water discharges and monitor the trace elements
in plating solutions to maintain solution integrity and process control.
